Cinematheque of Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School on the ground floor of the Film School building, is one of the units being a part of the library-information system functioning at the University of Silesia. Collections of the Cinematheque are available for the employees and students of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School, according to the rules of the library. The profile of the collections is determined by the fields of study and research work of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School. The Cinematheque includes collections on cinema, film, art and photography. It also has Polish and foreign magazines and a very rich film stock.

EVERY STUDENT SUBSCRIBING TO THE CINEMATHEQUE MUST HAVE AN INDEX BOOK. IN ORDER TO BORROW SOMETHING FROM THE COLLECTION STUDENT IDENTITY CARD IS REQUIRED.

The Cinematheque lends books, with the option to extend the return date only to:

  • Research and teaching employees of the University of Silesia - up to 50 vol. for a period of 16 weeks
  • Other employees of the University of Silesia - up to 25 vol. for a period of 8 weeks
  • Students of the University of Silesia - up to 25 vol. for a period of 8 weeks
  • PhD candidates of the University of Silesia - up to 30 vol. for a period of 8 weeks
  • Students of postgraduate studies at the University of Silesia - up to 10 vol. for a period of 8 weeks
  • Retired employees of the University of Silesia - up to 5 vol. for a period of 8 weeks
  • Films - for 2 weeks

Late return of library materials is subject to a penalty specified in the library regulations.

Magazines collected by the Cinematheque of Kieslowski Film School are available only in the reading room.

Users of the Cinematheque, are obliged to strictly comply with the above-mentioned principles together with the Regulations on sharing the collections in the library and information system of the University of Silesia.

In order to receive a validation on their circulation form, graduating students are asked to come to the Cinematheque with their index book.
