“Last Days of Summer” with the Best Original Score Prize in Nigeria

The short fiction film "Last days of summer" (2020), dir. Klaudia Kęska with cinemastography by Kamil Małecki produced at the Kieślowski Film School received the Best Original Score Prize at the Women's International Film Festival Nigeria (WIFFEN) in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

Music for the film was composed by Żaneta Rydzewska with a track by Adrian Robak.

This year's edition of the festival was held on 4-5 March. The following films produced by our School were also competing for the awards: "Anatomy Lesson" (2020), dir. Gabriela Federowicz and "The Gap is Always Third" (2019), dir. Katarzyna Sikorska.

"Last Days of Summer" tells the story of a teenage Tosia who faces a difficult moral dilemma - a choice between justice and the protection of loved ones.

The production was managed by: Stanisław Bryś, Aleksandra Gajdosz and Ewa Dubiel. The producer of the film is Krystyna Doktorowicz (Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia).

The film had its world premiere at the 60th Krakow Film Festival, where it received the award for the best cinematography in the Polish competition and the acting award for Julia Kuzka.
