Kazimierz Kutz Award

Kazimierz Kutz Award aims to honor the artist for his outstanding artistic achievements that play an important role in the current public debate, contributing to building a democratic and tolerant society. The award promotes artists who combine artistic activity with social commitment, presenting an attitude close to the patron of the award, Kazimierz Kutz.

Among the nominees for the first Kazimierz Kutz Award are: Anna Dymna, Wojciech Smarzowski, Tadeusz Sławek, Szczepan Twardoch and Janosch (Horst Eckert). The award ceremony will take place at the Silesian Theatre in Katowice on February 16, 2021 at 19.00, on the birthday of patron Kazimierz Kutz.

Members of the jury of the Kazimierz Kutz Award are: Iwona Świętochowska-Kutz, prof. Ryszard Koziołek, Ewa Niewiadomska, Olgierd Łukaszewicz, Halina Bieda, prof. Antoni Cygan, dr hab. Krystyna Doktorowicz, prof. Andrzej Gwóźdź, Jerzy Illg, Aleksandra Klich, Dariusz Kortko, Marcin Krupa, Jacek Siebel, Edyta Sytniewska, Robert Talarczyk, Piotr Zaczkowski.

The organizers of the Award are the City of Katowice, the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Silesian Theater in Katowice. The founder of the Award (PLN 50,000 and a statuette) is the City of Katowice.
