14 documentaries have been qualified for this year's Competition Błysk Oka of the 8th edition of the Przeźrocza Film Festival. Among them, there are as many as 5 short films produced at the Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. The main part of the festival will be held on September 1-4 in Bydgoszcz.

The Przeźrocza Film Festival presents new trends in documentary cinema, at the same time strongly referring to film traditions. The event combines the analog past with the digital present looking for alternative means of expression. The slides (przeźrocza) refer to the Bydgoszcz film traditions of Kazimierz Karabasz and at the same time promote the latest documentary productions from Poland and abroad.

Short fiction film "Quiver" (2022), dir. Joanna Różniak produced at the Kieślowski Film School returns from the 14th Solanin Film Festival with the Grand Prix. The award was granted by the Jury composed of: Łukasz Ronduda, Karolina Bruchnicka, Michalina Łabacz, Mikołaj Trzaska (chairman of the Jury) and Kuba Armata. The award was granted for "showing that tenderness brings hope for a better world."

The cinematographer for the film "Quiver" is Łukasz Łatanik. Jakub Lebiedziński was responsible for production management. The pedagogical supervision over the production was carried out by prof. Michał Rosa. The producer of the film is prof. Krystyna Doktorowicz.

Among the winners of the festival is also the animated film "C`est la vie", co-directed by an employee of the Kieślowski Film School, Wojciech Sankiewicz. "C`est la vie" received an award in the animated film category for "creativity, inventiveness and ingenuity in dealing with the most important topics in a contemporary form".

During the 14th edition of the Solanin Film Festival, further nominations for the Jan Machulski Awards took place. Among the nominees is Katarzyna Sikorska for the script of the film "The Delivery" (2021). Acting nominations were given to Mateusz Czwartosz for the role of, among others in the film "Quiver" (2022) by Joanna Różniak. The films "The Delivery" and "Quiver" were produced at the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia.

Registration for the first courses within the Transform4Europe offer has started. The seven universities that make up the European university T4E have prepared an offer of undergraduate courses for students.

The subjects are divided into two modules: main and specialist.

The first one covers topics from the following areas:

  • entrepreneurship,
  • intercultural languages and competences
  • and history, politics, culture, law and economy.

The second module concerns the basic civilization challenges undertaken by the T4EU alliance, that is: digital, environmental and social transformation.

The courses are primarily in English (unless otherwise stated), in the following formulas: online, hybrid or mixed.

After completing the course, each student will receive a certificate and the appropriate number of ECTS points.

Solanin Film Festival is the off-film festival, which grew out of passion and faith in cinema. Solanin combines independent productions and interesting Polish, European and world films. It presents, rewards and promotes off-films and young artists.

Produced at the Kieślowski Film School, the film "Slave" (2021), dir. Grzegorz Piekarski returns from the 2nd edition of the "Wajda na Nowo" Film Festival with distinction. This year's jury consisted of: Filip Marczewski (chairman of the jury), Urszula Grabowska and Andrzej Pągowski. The distinction was awarded for "formal consistency, intriguing acting creations as well as precision and care for the complementary plot and visual space".

The cinematographer for the film "Slave" is Antoni Grałek. Natalia Pietsch, Maja Zaleska, Grzegorz Piekarski and Antoni Grałek were responsible for production management. The pedagogical supervision over the production was provided by prof. Adam Sikora and prof. Maciej Pieprzyca. The producer of the film is prof. Krystyna Doktorowicz.

The 2nd edition of the "Wajda na Nowo" Film Festival was held on August 18-20, 2022 in Suwałki.
