The 21st New Horizons International Film Festival includes 11 films associated with the Kieślowski Film School, including our 3 short films! The New Horizons International Film Festival takes place in Wrocław on July 21-31 (also online until August 7).

The book "Event - Technique - Art: Thinking of Film Art: Observations" by the Vice-Dean for Science and Art at Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia, prof. Jerzy Łukaszewicz was nominated for the award of the Polish Society for Film and Media Research for 2021 in the category "Best Book of the Year". The book was published by the Publishing House of the University of Silesia.

The results will be announced on September 1, 2022. The award ceremony will be held during the 47th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

6 short films produced at the Kieślowski Film School have been qualified for the Short Film Competition at the 47th edition of the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.

On the other hand, 4 films by our graduates and lecturers were submitted to the Main Competition.

This year's edition of the festival will be held on September 12-17, 2022.

During the 15th edition of the Kameralne Lato festival in Radom, further nominations for the Jan Machulski Award were granted. Among the nominees there are, among others the film "Dzieci i ryby" (2022), dir. Gracjana Piechula. Nominations in the "Best Actress" category went to Paula Brzozowska, who plays the main role in the film. The film was produced at the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia.

The jury composed of Magnus von Horn, prof. Ewa Braun, Anna Mucha and Marek Świszcz.

Jan Machulski Awards were created for all filmmakers who create short films. In their assumption, they are to be the most prestigious Polish distinction dedicated to the creators of Polish short film. The first edition took place in 2005.

Four films produced at the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia will take part in the 8th Young Poland Film Competition during the 25th Festival of Film Music Painting “Lato z Muzami” in Nowogard.

The selections passed:

The films of the 8th Young Poland Film Competition will be shown in three blocks on July 13-14 at the Cultural Center of Nowogard. The "Lato z Muzami" festival is one of the most important cultural events on the map of Western Pomerania. The 25th edition of the festival will be held on July 11-17, 2022. The program includes film premieres, meetings with filmmakers and activities for young people. Once again, the organizers will present the prestigious Cisowy Award statuette for outstanding artistic achievements. To the group of distinguished laureates - incl. Agnieszka Holland, Dorota Kędzierzawska, Mariusz Wilczyński, Wojciech Smarzowski and Janusz Zaorski - will be joined by Radosław Piwowarski.
