This year, the director of the WFF will give students a presentation on the possibility of completing internships during this year's edition of the festival, which will take place from 6 to 15 October.

For the last two weeks we had the pleasure of hosting a lecturer from Universidade da Beira Interior - UBI!
Dr. Patricia Nogueira teaches classes at the Faculty of Art of the University of Portugal on a daily basis, her extensive experience in the field of documentary films allowed her to teach a course at Kieślowski Film School.
Interactive Documentary - classes during which students of our faculty learned what an interactive documentary film is, how it is created, how its perception is influenced by the implementation of narrative - traditional and the newer one, giving the viewer a better opportunity to experience. The classes were aimed at enabling students to master the necessary tools to create interactive audiovisual content in the documentary layer. The students were presented with several examples of interactive films, pointing to the differences and directions followed by their creators.
On behalf of the students of the Kieślowski Film School, we would like to thank you for conducting classes that will surely be remembered by them.
On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the University of Silesia, the Rector of the University, prof. dr hab. Ryszard Koziołek invites you to a ceremonial academic concert "Kilar's World - inspirations, sources", which will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 6.00 pm in the concert hall of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
The official part of the concert will be conducted by students of the University of Silesia, and the artistic part - by Robert Talarczyk, director of Teatr Śląski im. Stanisław Wyspiański in Katowice.
The program includes, among others:
lecture by Prof. dr. hab. Jerzy Łukaszewicz, Vice-Dean for Science and Artistic Creativity of the Kieślowski Film School entitled "A few remarks on the artistic truth"
Carpathian folk music performed by students of the Institute of Music Arts of the University of Silesia
Wojciech Kilar - "Orawa" in the string quartet version
famous themes of Wojciech Kilar's film music

The 76th edition of the Festival de Cannes is currently underway and we have a photo report straight from the red carpet for you!
Last Friday (May 19), the premiere of the full-length production entitled "The Zone of Interest" directed by Jonathan Glazer, which is competing in the Main Competition for the victory at the prestigious festival.
“The Zone of Interest” tells the story of the family of a commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp living right behind the walls of the camp.
Our students - Stanisław Cuske (camera operator), Bartosz Toboła (operator and camera assistant) worked on the film, as well as Marek Kita (camera assistant) and Krzysztof Świderski (video assistant) and a graduate of Film and Television Production - Maja Krężel (production assistant).
The festival also premieres "As it was", a short film in Polish-Ukrainian co-production, directed jointly by our graduate Damian Kocur and Anastasia Solonevych. Tadeusz Chudy, another graduate of the Kieślowski Film School, was responsible for the sound in this production.
It tells the story of Lera, who has recently found herself in Berlin and does not feel comfortable there, so one day she decides to return to Kiev, a place that is indispensably associated with her family. Doubts about the rightness of the decision she made are constantly accompanying her.
Eight students of the Kieślowski Film School are present in Cannes thanks to funding from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, thank you very much!

The 63rd Kalisz Theater Meeting is organized by Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz. The festival of the art of acting lasted from April 22 to May 13. The jury composed among others of dr hab. Bogdan Tosza, lecturer at the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia!
We would like to congratulate Mr. Mateusz Znaniecki, a graduate of Directing at our faculty for the second acting award in the amount of PLN 6,000 for the role of Young Maksymilian Aue in the play "Gracious" dir. Maja Kleczewska. In addition, Mateusz Znaniecki was awarded for the role of Nikołaj Trylecki in the play "Platonov", dir. Małgorzata Bogajewska from Teatr Śląski im. Stanislaw Wyspianski!
