A detective attempts to resolve a case of a mysterious death of 30-year old man that happened on a small island. With no faith for any success - he embarks on a journey to visit the crime scene. Attempts to reach the truth are ineffective but investigation conducted by him becomes more and more personal. Quasi-detective, film convention gives way to reflection on "existential questions". The film is inspired by Franz Kafka's prose - the novel Trial and the short story of Hunter Gracchus.
