People’s Republic of Poland. Włodzimierz Zawada, a porter at one of the workers‘ hotels is an exemplary citizen whose undisturbed daily existence passes without note. An unexpected finding that he comes across on a hotel’s corridor turns his life upside down, putting him in a Kafkian situation. Soon, it turnes out that Zawada is used as a scapegoat by the local authorities trying to express, on every opportunity, their devotion to the party.  When this elaborate plan is about to be successfully completed things suddenly take on a new direction. “A Porter From Mewa Hotel” is a bitter-sweet, grotesque crime story that depicts the ugly methods of communist regime, revealing each of its ambiguities and obscurities.
