Maciej Pieprzyca

Film director, screenwriter and writer. He studied journalism at the University of Silesia in Katowice (1984-1989), film scriptwriting at the Lodz Film School (1988-1990) and directing at the Faculty of Radio and Television, University of Silesia in Katowice (1990-1993).

Scriptwriter and director of feature films:

  • "Chce się żyć" (among others: Grand Prix International Film Festival in Montreal, Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival, Silver Lions at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, 5 Eagles Polish Film Academy Awards in 2014)
  • "Drzazgi" (Award for the best debut at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia 2008 Gold Medal at the International Film Festival in Houston)
  • "Barbórka" (Award Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, and the Houston International Film Festival in 2005)
  • "Inferno"
  • awarded theatre plays of the Television Theatre "Fryzjer", "Padnij", "Rodzinny Show", "Komu wierzycie"

and documentary films "Jestem mordercą", "Przez nokaut", "Inna".

Expert of Polish Film Institute. In 2013, he published a novel entitled "Chce się żyć”.
