Andrzej Cichocki

Andrzej Cichocki (PhD). Director, screenwriter, cinematographer, camera operator, producer. So far, his films have won 40 awards, and were nominated and awarded at such festivals as: Krakow Film Festival (Lajkonik - Best Polish Film, Best Cinematography), Rhode Island IFF - Oscar accredited festival (Audience Award), OFF Cinema Poznań (Bronze Castle), Warsaw Jewish Film Festival (The Best Short Film), Youth and Film Koszalin (Jantar - Best Cinematography), Parnu IFF (The Best International Film), Camerimage (Silver Tadpole), FIPA France, Montreal, Huesca, Athens IFF and many others. His documentary "A Little Bit of Paradise" had its international premiere in competition at the most prestigious documentary film festival in the world - IDFA in Amsterdam. He has worked, among others with such famous artists, Oscar nominees and winners of prestigious awards as Sławomir Idziak, Jolanta Dylewska, Detlev Buck, Jerzy Hoffman, Krystyna Janda, Marek Żebrowski, and Andrzej Jakimowski.

He is a graduate of the Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School; he defended his master's thesis Freedom and rigor of narration. Creative aspects of the cinematographer's workshop in the film story and doctoral thesis The Art of Film as Symbolic form. Cassirerian Influences. He also graduated from the Photography School of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, studies in the field of management and marketing, he studied vocals with acting.

Lecturer in directing and cinematography at Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School, he was also a guest lecturer at Staffordshire University in Great Britain, and at the Warsaw Film School. He is a supporter of interdisciplinary teaching methods, focused on openness to new technologies and modern teaching models. He runs his own film production company, is active in music (songwriter, lyricist, performer) and artistic photography. He has been a member of the jury of film festivals, and writes texts devoted to art. Member of the Polish Filmmakers Association.
