“East West” by Natalia Koniarz with the prize for the best actor in Iceland

During The Pigeon International Film Festival (PIFF) in Iceland, which ended on October 17, 2021, Daria Polunina received the award for the best actress for her main roles in the films: "East West" dir. Natalia Koniarz (production of the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia) and "Masha" dir. Krzysztof Chodorowski (production of the Warsaw Film School). Agata Basista, our student of the Film Production, was the production manager of "Masha".

On the other hand, the award for the best cinematography among short films was given to our graduate Damian Kocur for his cinematography for the film "Beyond is the day".

The program of the Icelandic festival included as many as 7 productions of the Kieślowski Film School. Apart from "East West", festival participants could see "Lolo", dir. Michał Piotrowski, "Hi, How Are You" dir. Michał Chmielewski, "When the Night Comes" dir. Katarzyna Sikorska, "The Nest" and "The Boy Who Walked Barefoot" dir. Gracjana Piechuli and "Dam", dir. Natalia Koniarz.

The Pigeon International Film Festival was held for the first time this year. At the debuting festival, Polish cinematography was a special guest. The festival was held on October 14-17 in Ísafjordur.
