“The Hero” by Milena Dutkowska at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival

Produced at the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia, the short film "The Hero" (2021), dir. Milena Dutkowska qualified for the 28th edition of the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival.

"The Hero" is about Cyprian - a 10-year-old orphan who dreams of becoming a true hero. The film's cinematographer is Igor Połaniewicz. Ernest Małkiewicz was responsible for production management. The producer of the film is Krystyna Doktorowicz (Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia).

Palm Springs International Short Film Festival is the largest festival dedicated to short films in North America. The 28th edition of the event takes place on June 21-27, 2022. Each year, the festival presents over 300 short films from around the world and organizes a fair with over 3,000 films. Palm Springs International Short Film Festival is on the prestigious list of Oscar qualifying festivals, BAFTA Awards, Canadian Screen Award.

Milena Dutkowska's trip to this event was possible thanks to the support of the Polish Film Institute from PO Promotion of Polish film abroad Priority III: Foreign scholarships.
