Basia pretends to her husband that everything is fine. At the entrance exams to an acting school, she meets Alicja and the baby she is taking care of. After a demanding performance and a difficult confrontation with her husband, Basia decides to kidnap Alicja’s child and unintentionally puts it in danger. This shocking event makes her ready for change and healing.

Retired firefighter Staszek shares everything with his beloved wife Alinka—except the bedroom. It is easier for him to show affection to the fluffy rabbits he breeds in his backyard shed than to Alinka. When he discovers that his wife has secretly taken a job as a cuddler at a paid cuddling salon called Honey Bunny, he must confront not only her but also his own sexuality and needs.

Mateusz Wróbel is a certified Polish philologist. Several years ago, he quit teaching and opened a shoemaking workshop at the old train station in Czechowice-Dziedzice. This year, Mateusz awaits the birth of his son, which becomes a pretext for many conversations with his customers—about shoes, poetry, and life.

The Mime and His Granddaughter, Director: Jan Seraphim | Cinematography: Maria Majerczyk | Production Management: Gabriel Banaszczyk, Hanna Rusin, Małgorzata Desput

As a young man, Bogdan left Poland after tragic events when his father was murdered by the militia. He settled in France, where fate led him to the Paris school of mime run by the legendary Marcel Marceau. Recognizing Bogdan’s talent, Marceau appointed him his assistant. After a successful career abroad, Bogdan returned to his hometown of Bolesławiec to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. There, he discovered the stage talent of his six-year-old granddaughter, Blanka, and decided to pass on his knowledge and experience to her, beginning her mime training.

The 10. Dolnośląski Festiwal Filmowy „Złoty Samorodek” 2025 will take place on September 26–28 in Złotoryja.
