Podlasie, near the Polish-Belarusian border. Thirty-year-old Paweł lives in constant haste, struggling to balance his job at a frozen food factory with caring for his dying father, for whom there is no room in the local hospice. He receives a warning from social services—signs of neglect are visible on his father. When a Syrian immigrant, Ali, is hit by Paweł’s car, Paweł decides to make a risky deal: he will shelter Ali from the border guards and help him cross into Germany if Ali helps him care for his father. Despite prejudice, differences, and the language barrier, the two men must learn to cooperate.

After years away, Piotr returns to his family home to confront his alcoholic father and rebuild his relationship with his brother Krzyś. The film tells the story of a man who must face the past that keeps catching up with him.

The Szczecin Film Festival will take place from October 16–20, 2025,

and Etiuda&Anima will be held from October 14–19, 2025.
