Gallery Galeria pusta cd. invites to the opening of the exhibition entitled "The city is not a natural environment for humans" by Bartosz Gaczyński - a first-year student of Cinematography at the Kieslowski Film School in Katowice. The city is not a natural environment for humans

Presented series of photographs were made between 2018-2021. The leitmotif was to inscribe a man into the glass, concrete and steel space of the city. At first I thought I was looking at a man in the city. Street photography? With time, I began to notice that in my big-city observations, a person loses subjectivity. It becomes an empty form, which is a condition for a successful composition. For a long time I was afraid of color. These photographs are a record of several of my observations, places and reflections on light, shadow, composition and subjectivity of the people I pass. It is also, in a way, a record of my path over the past few years. Copenhagen, Warsaw, Helsinki, Delfzijl, Katowice, Wrocław.

Bartosz Gaczyński - born 1996. First-year student of Cinematography at the Kieslowski Film School in Katowice. A graduate of film studies at the Jagiellonian University. In his free time, he sails on wooden sailing ships under the Vanuatu flag.
