“Mother’s Day” wins an Oscar qualifying festival in India

The film "Mother's Day" (2021), directed by Patryk Kaflowski, won the International Competition at the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival in India.

The event took place from August 28 - September 5, 2021. The Indian festival is on the prestigious list of Oscar qualifying festivals. By winning the festival, our film also received an Oscar qualification in the category for short fictional films.

Patryk Kaflowski's film tells the story of a female fox that travels through the forest in search of food. When she reaches the edge of the forest, she comes across a lonely farm, where she witnesses turbulent events involving a young woman expecting a baby.

The cinematographer for the film is Patryk Roman. Michał Walter and Patryk Kaflowski are responsible for the editing. Krzysztof Lang was responsible for artistic supervision over the production. The producer of the film is Krystyna Doktorowicz (Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia).

The 94th American Film Academy Awards Gala is scheduled for March 27, 2022.
