The names of all the creators who will compete for this year's Jan Machulski Awards have been announced. Among the nominees there are films produced at the Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. The winners in each category will be selected by the Jan Machulski Award jury, composed of renowned filmmakers and screen stars every year. The jury will also award an award in the "Best Film" category, which will be chosen from among all the titles nominated in the other categories. It will be awarded to the producer and director of the winning title.

• "Imprisoned" (dir. Piotr Bieliński) - nomination for the best director (Piotr Bieliński)
• "The Delivery" (dir. Katarzyna Sikorska) - nomination for the best script (Katarzyna Sikorska)
• "Vyraj" (dir. Agnieszka Nowosielska) - nomination for the best cinematography (Barbara Kaniewska)
• "Out of water" (directed by Gracjana Piechula) - nomination for the best actress (Paula Brzozowska)
• "Quiver" (dir. Joanna Różniak) - nomination for the best actor (Mateusz Czwartosz)

All nominated films will be shown on November 2-3, 2022 at the Atlantic cinema in Warsaw during the 21st CINEMAFORUM. The award ceremony of the 18th edition of the Jan Machulski Awards will take place as part of the gala at the end of the festival - on November 6, 2022.

Jan Machulski Awards were created for all filmmakers who create short films. In their assumption, they are to be the most prestigious Polish distinction dedicated to the creators of Polish short cinema. The first edition took place in 2005.
