Throughout the month beginning from March 14 till April 10, 2018, at the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom, the new event „Ślōnski szwōng” is held to familiarize people with the culture and tradition of the region, both on the ethnographic, visual and musical level.

As part of the event, the meeting "Our Silesian Hollywood" was held in which the short films created at the Faculty were presented. Presented were: Badylok by Karolina Kłapkowska, Dregs by Kordian Kądziela, Dust by Jakub Radeja and The Frog King by Arek Biedrzycki. The films have been deliberately chosen to show different ways of telling stories, different perspectives on cinema and imaging. After each screening, discussions were conducted by Marek Ryś along with a special guest, Dr. Małgorzata Rygielska.
