Description of the field:

The aim of the education is to prepare the student to work as an image operator, camera operator, television image producer, still photographer, photographer and photo operator. The five-year study program consists of subjects in the field of humanities knowledge, including: propaedeutics of culture, philosophy, history and theory of film, history of art, literature and drama, as well as major subjects aimed at preparing the student to produce cinematographic films, television forms, analog and digital photography and other audiovisual productions based on the latest image recording and reproduction technologies (e.g. computer special effects, virtual spaces, etc.). In the course of teaching, the student has contact with both theoreticians in selected fields and practitioners employed in cinematography and television units.

During the studies, students participate in practical workshop exercises, the final effect of which each year are independent television and film etudes.

The studies end with the preparation and defense of a master’s thesis, which consists of practical (realization) work and theoretical work. (written).

Professional prospects:

The graduate is equipped with humanistic knowledge, aesthetic awareness and practical skills as well as social competences important in the field of cinematography and photography. Has knowledge of technical and technological aspects of film, television and photography. After graduating, he is prepared to independently and creatively shoot feature films and documentaries using photosensitive and electronic systems; producing photos, light and vision in television programs and performances using all professional image production systems.

He also has the knowledge and skills necessary to produce other forms such as animated and educational films, advertising spots, music videos, photographs and multimedia forms. Therefore, he can take up work in the film and television industry and in other institutions where film, photography, television broadcasts are used or used in their activities (art galleries, museums, advertising agencies, production houses, etc.)
