In connection with the introduction of a new regulation (No. 201) of the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice of November 23, 2021 on the introduction of the procedure for submitting and archiving written diploma theses in the electronic database, I would like to inform you that“The person initiating the application process is the diploma thesis supervisor. The entered and published application, after signing (the application is signed electronically via APD) by all persons related to the application, i.e. the supervisor(s) and the author(s) of the thesis are directed to the committee approving the topics of diploma theses.”

Paper applications for registering an RTP thesis topic are no longer valid!

Order regarding the submission and archiving of diploma theses


APPLICATION REGISTRATION:
The application for approval of the thesis topic should be submitted to APD no later than the end of the penultimate semester of studies.

SUBMITTING A DIPLOMA THESIS:
The student submits the diploma thesis or diploma project (theoretical)in electronic form – applies to all fields of study of the Film School.
The student submits the diploma film or diploma project (practical) on a CD or pendrive to the dean’s office –applies to the fields of film and television direction and production and photography of the School Film.

CONDITIONS FOR DEFENSE:
The condition for being allowed to defend a diploma thesis is to submit electronically:

  1. Diploma thesis (theoretical) in APD – electronically.
  2. Diploma film or diploma project (practical) – in the dean’s office
  3. Declaration of joining the alumni database – (USOS/tab for everyone/alumni database/submit a new declaration) at the dean’s office or by e-mail (scanned with a handwritten signature).
  4. Circulation – at the dean’s office (form can be downloaded from the dean’s office or below) or by e-mail (e-mail confirmations from the library, etude production and technology department)
  5. Application for conducting an examination (in accordance with the Rector’s Order No. 201, the examination may be held stationary or remotely) – electronically via USOS/tab: applications.

In case of incomplete documentation, no defense date will be set!

DIPLOMA FEES:

PLN 60.00 – fee for: diploma and supplement, copy in Polish x2 – applies to students who started their studies before the 2019/2020 academic year. – no application for documents required.

PLN 100.00. – fee for: diploma and supplement, copy in Polish x2, copy in English – applies to students who started their studies before the 2019/2020 academic year.

Free of charge – applies to students who started their studies after the 2019/2020 academic year.
