Programme description:

The studies are designed for individuals who hold a Bachelor’s or Master of Science degree and wish to strengthen their competencies in social media communication, as well as expand, organize, and consolidate their knowledge of new tools and techniques for utilizing social media. The studies comprehensively prepare students for work in the era of media convergence and for navigating smoothly within the digital media world.

Education is conducted in a hybrid mode, with on-site classes being the dominant form. The remote form is used exclusively for selected didactic activities, serving as a supplement to the educational process carried out directly at the university.

The goal of the studies is to educate professionals in the field of digital film art, taking into account all aspects of effective communication in the virtual space. Creative management is a response to the current trend in the art of a producer’s work. In the era of private enterprises, anyone producing even the smallest audiovisual work must keep up with the times and independently carry out numerous creative tasks, as well as possess extensive knowledge to produce a complete work. Regardless of whether it is a feature film, documentary, or personal videoblog. Also, within the trend of streaming productions, the role of a creative manager is invaluable and increasingly appreciated. Being a creative manager means having the ability to research the market, demand, the ability to think creatively, and skillfully implement established goals.

The studies are open to graduates of journalism, theater and film arts, marketing, PR, production organization, photography, individuals creating creative network messages and operating in the area of communication in the virtual space using film imagery, and individuals who intend to start their own business or currently run one in the film, television, or social media industry.

The studies encompass 1200 teaching hours across 4 thematic areas:

  • artistic and creative area (screenwriting techniques, animated film, music video, commercial film, television and film genres, new media journalism, film editing, sound realization, fundamentals of cinematography, fundamentals of directing, cooperation with an actor, fundamentals of graphic design, history of film and television, music in film),
  • social media area (copywriting, social media technology, media project management, new media development directions, self-promotion techniques in social media, content management in social media, social media marketing, social media analysis, e-Commerce),
  • business area (media venture business plan, fundamentals of social psychology, production team management, conducting business negotiations, multimedia project budget, sales techniques for a multimedia work, fundraising and sponsorship, creative thinking techniques),
  • legal area (copyright law, intellectual property protection on the web, information security management)
  • film, television, and new media workshops (30h per semester) conducted as part of the study program,
  • workshops conducted by foreign lecturers (60h per semester) as part of the POWER 3.5 edition 2018 program.

The carefully developed curriculum allows students to acquire knowledge of filmmaking to a degree that enables the realization of their own independent film, promotional, advertising, or production projects, and also allows the student to acquire team management skills and creative abilities. The studies provide systematized theoretical and practical knowledge regarding all stages and aspects of creating film, television, and advertising works. Students will learn the technology and techniques used in film and multimedia production. Students will not only get to know the tools but, above all, will gain knowledge on how and in what context to use the acquired knowledge and how to measure the effectiveness of their actions.

Career prospects:

As a result, graduates will navigate efficiently within the digital media space, creating valuable content for the needs of contemporary communication and possessing the knowledge of how to effectively promote a brand, company, as well as themselves in the digital media area.

A graduate of the “Creative management in new media” program can work in digital and PR agencies in the creation of multimedia content, in marketing departments of companies, television, radio, internet portals, or other “traditional” media utilizing the phenomenon of media convergence, or run their own business in the virtual space within creative industries (blogger, YouTuber, etc.).

Entrance exams:

The exam will be held in English.

Admission to the studies is open to graduates of higher education (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees) in programs within one of the following disciplines: film and theater arts, communication and media studies, management and quality studies, legal studies, sociological studies, humanities, psychology, musical arts, fine arts, or related disciplines.

The condition for entering the recruitment process is the submission of a portfolio containing information about:

  • completion of first or second-cycle studies in a program within one of the disciplines: film and theater arts, communication and media studies, management and quality studies, legal studies, sociological studies, psychology, musical arts, fine arts, or related disciplines;
  • activities related to performing creative tasks in the audiovisual industry.

Admission to the studies, up to the limit, will be based on the submitted portfolio and an interview in English verifying knowledge of the contemporary creative industry, cultural institutions, economics of the audiovisual sector, and verifying the predisposition for work in the audiovisual industry.

For candidates who receive the same score from the interview, the next criterion is the grade for the diploma thesis, followed by the diploma exam grade.

A failing grade obtained from any exam at any stage determines a negative outcome of the qualification process.

The admission limit for candidates is 15 people.
