During the fourth edition of Contact – International Student Film Festival in Izmir, the film Lockjaw by Kordian Kądziela was awarded. The film was the only representative of Polish cinema this year. "Lockjaw" has won the SenEDIT Award for Best Story..

In Jihlava the International Documentary Film Festival and the accompanying East Silver Fair have just finished. During these Jakub Radej received the Silver Eye Award for the film Dust.
Fort he 9. time the best films have been awarded the Silver Eye prize. The award is intended to help creators to promote and distribute the film on international film and television festivals.
Jury appreciated Radej‘s film for showing the topic of death in the conceptual, detached from emotion way, its beautiful pictures and elaborate editing.

The award for the best film, funded by the President of the City of Szczecin, was awarded ex aequo for the film "I am" directed by Grzegorz Paprzycki. The Jury motivated the choice stating that the prize goes to the production that speaks of modern way of thinking: between evil and good, rationalism and irrationality, religion and atheism, proving that it can not be understood.

During the 34th Tehran Short Film Festival the Grand Prix was awarded to Piotr Domalewski for his film Evil deeds.
The main character of the film is Maks, the ten-year-old son of a hospital cleaner, who is caught on an attempt to steal a patient's wallet. The disadvantaged old man decides not to report the theft, but instead asks Maks to perform three tasks. But these are going to be a lot harder than expected.

On Friday, 20 October 2017, the photographic exhibition opening "NIGREDO ścichłem w chłodu" took place at the Center of Silesian Culture.
The exhibition is related to the film "The Giant’s Return" where Adam Sikora is a director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Both works are bond together by a process called "nigredo" or blakness, which means decomposition of matter.
During the exhibition, you could also see the movie "The Gianbt’s Return".
