Cooperation

Film School Krzysztof Kieślowski‘s potential for cooperation with the environment, both in the Silesian Voivodeship and in the country, in the field of cooperation with the economy, cultural institutions, public institutions, non-governmental organizations as well as employers and local governments. The University of Silesia signed an agreement with Telewizja Polska S.A. regarding cooperation in the field of teaching as one of the significant employers for the School’s graduates (Agreement of November 8, 2013 on teaching cooperation).

As part of the Agreement, joint program initiatives are planned, as well as the launch of vocational and MBA courses. The School’s cooperation also includes cooperation with other universities, primarily those educating in the field of art. The School’s involvement in research work related to new information and communication technologies for the cultural and audiovisual industries will result in cooperation with polytechnic schools. The school will continue cooperation and consulting for public entities such as the police, museums, community centers, local government cultural institutions, schools, foundations and associations.

Cooperation with the environment – operational goals:

  • Joint teaching and programming activities with Telewizja Polska S.A.
  • Shaping positive relations between the School and its surroundings.
  • Providing access to the School’s artistic potential to organize regional and national projects.
  • Organization of festivals for art school students.
  • Cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions and organizations as well as business entities.
  • Cooperation with film and cultural institutions aimed at enabling the School’s students to carry out artistic projects at a high artistic level and to promote students’ creativity.
  • Cooperation with television broadcasters to broadcast the best student etudes.
  • Organization of events promoting creative achievements (film reviews, photo exhibitions).
  • Participation in national and international film festivals and film markets.
  • Cooperation with the Polish Film Institute to raise funds for film production.
  • Cooperation with public, local and regional entities, such as: police, local government units.
  • Cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, the Academy of Music in Katowice, the State Film, Television and Theater School in Łódź and the State Theater School in Kraków in order to integrate student artistic communities and enable students to carry out joint ventures in the field of art.
  • Cooperation with third sector organizations.
  • Cooperation with secondary education.

A space for special cooperation is the international student film festival Węgiel Film Festival, organized by the school’s students, which is a meeting place for young creators with representatives of the film industry. The participation of Guild representatives in juries, expert panels and consultation sessions allows students to establish industry contacts, receive constructive feedback and better understand the mechanisms of the audiovisual market. In this way, the festival serves as a bridge between film education and professional practice.

In the last three editions of the Festival, the Film School of The Krzysztof Kieślowski University of Silesia was visited by many Directors, Presidents and important representatives of important institutions in the industry, in particular:
