The Erasmus+ program supports the academic mobility of students, PhD students and university employees. It enables studies, training and experience in foreign institutions and universities.
Faculty of the Film School. Krzysztof Kieślowski cooperates in the field of student education by implementing the Erasmus+ program, and cooperates with a wide range of renowned universities from all over Europe. The partners include universities, art academies, film schools and research institutes.
The University of Silesia has been participating in the Erasmus+ program (formerly: Sokrates) since 1998, i.e. since the beginning of the program in Poland. So far, 3,607 people have gone to study under the program and 566 have taken part in foreign internships. The university accepted 1,948 foreign students and 1,524 lecturers. For years, the Silesian Alma Mater has been at the forefront of universities in terms of the number of research workers operating in institutions abroad. Currently, it is about 350 people a year. Since the beginning of the program, 3,026 people have benefited from this type of trips. International exchange under the Erasmus+ program is carried out by 469 institutions and organizations around the world. It is true that non-European, or rather non-EU, mobility has been implemented only since 2015/2016, when a new component of the Erasmus+ program was launched, but a total of over 200 people have already used this form of cooperation.
