On July 9 in Radom the 9th edition of the Polish National Film Encounters Intimate Summer finished. During the festival in the competition participated, among others, films produced at the Faculty of Radio and Television. During the closing ceremony of the festival the nominations for next year's edition of the Jan Machulski Polish Independent Film Awards were announced. Two nominations were given to the films, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television:

  • for Best Picture Bartosz Bieniek was nomintated for his cinematography in the film America by Aleksandra Terpińska;
  • for Best Actor the nomintation was granted to Ariel Makara for his role in What I Want by Damian Kocur.

On Sunday, July 3 in Łagów the 45th edition of the Lubuskie Film Summer - the oldest festival of feature films in Poland – has finished. Jury of the Short Film Competition including of Wanda Mirowska (chairperson), Tomasz Broda and Istvan Krasztel awarded the Silver Grape to the filmmakers of Disorder, produced at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television. This is the first award for the film directed by Julian Tałandziewicz and with photos of Maciej Kwaśniewski, which actually had its premiere in Łagów.

The winning streak of film The Shadow Forest, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television, continues. The film, directed by and with photos of Andrzej Cichocki received the Audience Award for the student film at the International Film Festival in Paphos (Cyprus). During the festival, which took place from 24 to 26 June, three short films, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television, were presented. Except of the award-winning The Shadow Forest, for the awards competed God Bless You by Jakub Radej and Knife In the Wife by Vita Maria Drygas.

The Shadow Forest is one of the most award-winning student films of the Faculty in recent years. So far the film was screened at over 50 festivals around the world, winning 18 awards, among others, in the United States, Italy, Argentina, Greece and Poland. America, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television, succeeded yet again. This time the diploma short film of the Faculty’s students: Aleksandra Terpińska (script and directing) and Bartosz Bieniek (DoP) was praised by the jury of the festival Art Film Fest, which was held in Kosice, Slovakia, awarding the artists with Special Mentions in the International Competition. This is yet another success of the film, presented so far in the 30 festivals in the country and abroad and the award winning in, among others, Dresden, Potsdam, Bydgoszcz, Wroclaw, Koszalin and Katowice. In the coming weeks, America will be presented at the festivals in France, Austria, Denmark and Poland.

On June 25 in Koszalin this year's edition of the Festival of Film Debuts "The Youth and Film" ended. Among the winners of the festival were students and graduates of the Faculty of Radio and Television.

The short films awarded in the Debut Short Film Competition, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television, were:

  • Special Award of Legal Culture for the short film for inviting the audience to participate in the transformation of character, was received by Katarzyna Warzecha, director of the film Six Months of Franek W.;
  • Amber for editing a short film for sense and sensibility in constructing the story, was received by Agata Cierniak, editor of the film Daniel directed by Anastazja Dąbrowska.

Also the graduates of the Faculty were awarded:

  • Kuba Czekaj received the award for best directing in the Feature Film Debut Competition and the Journalists Award for the feature film Baby Bump;
  • Marcin Koszałka won the Award for the best cinematography in the Feature Film Debut Competition for the film The Red Spider, which he also directed;
  • Weronika Bilska received the award for the best cinematography in the Short Film Debut Competition for films Close Ties and Lila.
