During the Silesian Science Festival, the Silesian Science Award wasawarded for the first time, promoting outstanding achievements of Silesian scientists, doctoral students and students representing various scientific disciplines and various types of artistic creation. Among the fifteen winners there were, among others, mgr Jan P. Matuszyński and Jakub Radej.

Awards

During this year's edition of the short film competition 32 films from 13 countries have been selected from over a thousand works submitted. The jury chaired by Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz honored with the Golden Dinosaur and the money award the film Dregs dir. Kordian Kądziela, justifying their choice "A film that in a concise manner with comic means deals with the subject of loneliness".

Again good news from the United States. During the 29th edition The Polish Film Festival in Chicago, which is the world's largest event promoting the Polish film outside of Poland, the main prize of the Golden Teeth of Camera for the feature film went to the film "Happiness of the World" dir. Michał Rosa.

The jury appreciated the timeliness of the film's message, its extraordinary sensuality and the highest artistic level of realization - from acting to the script, photography, set design and music.

The Special Jury Award went to the film "I am a killer" by Maciej Pieprzyca. Anastazja Dąbrowska with the film Daniel was honored with the "Discovering Eye Award" for debuting filmmakers in the documentary.

On Sunday the Gliwice Off Film Festival Goffr GTW Gliwice ended, during which Julian Tałandziewicz with the film Disorder won the Grand Prix and Piotr Domalewski received the audience award for his Evil deeds.

The Off Film Festival GOFFR is the oldest film festival in Gliwice, which first edition took place in 2004. The Festival hosts meetings with actors, workshops and film screenings, as well as a film competition.

During the 24. Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival, Anastazja Dąbrowska with the film “Daniel” won the award for the best debut, and our graduate Łukasz Nowak with the production of "Tree and I" won in the category of the best short film.

From the beginning of its existence in 1993, the Festival promoted contemporary Polish documentary films, animated short films, feature films and films for children. The Festival includes a short film competition in three categories: a documentary, a short feature film and a film debut.
