"What sings in the grass?" - the short film competition

Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television encourages to participate in the short film competition inspired by the educational campaign "What sings in the grass?". The competition, organized by the Silesian Zoological Garden, is open and the participation is free.

One of the most important objectives of the competition is to familiarize participants with local biodiversity and to make them more aware of their needs, also to develop the creative capacity of young people. The organizers believe that participating in the competition is a perfect promotion of active leisure and spending time in the nature.

Wojciech Klimala with the scholarship

On March 20th in Warsaw Wojciech Klimala, student of Directing at the Faculty of Radio and Television, received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for his artistic accomplishments. A scholarship in amount of PLN 50,000 was granted under the 14th edition of the "Young Poland" Program. The young director will spend the full amount on his second full-length documentary, "The Signs," which tells the story of the Deaf Miss World.

Charismatic Woman 2017 Logo

On March 20 at the Bagatela Theater in Cracow a conference and awards ceremony - titles for Charismatic Women 2017 took place. Dean of the Faculty of Radio and Television, prof. Krystyna Doktorowicz, was awarded the title in the All-Female category.

According to organizers, charismatic women are the ones who have passions and dreams. They turn them into plans and reality, but do not do it at the expense of others. They are creative, entrepreneurial and resourceful. They share their knowledge, good energy and what they can. There are also stumbles, they face many challenges, but they always go forward. They are realists, but they believe that women's solidarity makes sense.

14. Węgiel Film Festival Logo

The 14. Węgiel Film Festival and the Open Days of the Radio and Television Faculty will take place on the 6. and 7. April at the Kosmos Cinema in Katowice.

During the festival, organized by the students of the Faculty, 37 films from 14 countries will be presented. Short films will be judged by the jury: Violetta Rotter – Kozera, Anna Bielak, Tomasz "Spell" Grządziela and Piotr Jasiołek. During the festival there will also be meetings with jury members.

The festival will be combined with the Open Days of the Faculty during which the candidates will have an opportunity to get information about education at the Faculty, course of studies and the rules of recruitment. Candidates will also have an opportunity to consult their artistic work with our lecturers. Those interested in studies in Cinematography and Photography, please take the files with your photographic work.

The Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia invites the entire academic community to debate "Do we need the country of law?". The debate will be held on 30 March 2017., At 11:00 am, in the auditorium room No. 8 (Bankowa 11B).

The meeting will be attended by eminent Polish lawyers: Professor Stanislaw Waltoś and Professor Andrzej Zoll.
