As many as three films produced by Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television will compete in the contest during the XXIV National Festival of Film Art "Prowincjonalia 2017" in Września.
Lockjaw (dir. Kordian Kądziela), It Happens (dir. Arek Biedrzycki) and Disorder (dir. Julian Tałandziewicz) will rival for the title of best short feature film.
On January 20 will start the 28th Trieste Film Festival, international film festival, during which a short film Disorder, produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television, will be presented. The film was produced by the students of WRiTV Julian Tałandziewicz (script, direction and editing) and Maciej Kwasniewski (cinematography). Disorder will compete for the title of the best short film with seventeen other productions from Croatia, Bosnia, Romania, Slovenia and Greece.
Disorder is a story of a librarian who snatches of life lethargy after a seemingly trivial event and awakens the hitherto dormant desires is told with no words. The film was previously presented at the Lubuskie Film Summer in Łagów where it received the Silver Grape in the Short Feature Film Competition. Its international premiere was at the 27th International Short Film Festival in Sao Paulo.
The Trieste Film Festival is an international film festival founded in 1989. Held annually on the third week of January in Trieste, it has become the leading festival of Central and Eastern Europe cinema in Italy. This years edition will last until January 29. Last Polish film entering cinemas in 2016 is „ The Happiness of the World” directed by Professor Michał Rosa. The film is a story about the residents of a tenant house in Silesia - Jan, Róża and the three men enchanted by her – Pole, Silesian and a young German.
Film had its premieres, among others in Warsaw (12.12), in Katowice in cinema Rialto (16.12) and in Lower Silesian Film Center in Wrocław (19.12).
The Awards of the Marshal of Silesian Voivodeship in culture were granted already for the sixteenth time.
Awards were given in three categories: artistic, for young artists, and for the promotion and protection of cultural heritage. The ceremony was held traditionally in Katowice in the Rialto cinema. Awards for achievements in artistic creation were received this year by Janusz Karbowniczek in the field of visual arts, Henryk Konwiński for achievements in the field of choreography and dance and photographer Zbigniew Sawicz.
For the promotion and protection of cultural heritage, Andrzej Dopierała was distinguished for his promotion of theatrical art, Grzegorz Kamiński for the promotion of cultural heritage and Stanisław Trefoń in the field of visual arts.
Each year also young artists receive the Award of the Marshal. This time Martyna Biłogan (nickname Erith) was awarded in the field of music, Szymon Kobylarz for achievements in the field of fine arts, and our graduate Jan P. Matuszyński, already awarded Golden Lion for his film "Ostatnia Rodzina" at this year's Film Festival in Gdynia, for his achievements in film.
Awards in the field of culture are connected with the awards ceremony for outstanding achievements in the field of monument conservation, which this year took place on December 15 at the Theological Faculty of the University of Silesia in Katowice during the conservation session entitled "Temple" organized by the Regional Cultural Institute in Katowice.
