The latest edition of the Blaue Blume Polska Competition is now behind us! Although we didn’t secure the victory, we still have reasons to celebrate – Repetitions, directed by Maciej Czuchryta, has received a Jury Special Mention!

In the jury’s statement: This unique documentary in the competition touched the hearts of the audience with its authenticity and depth. It is a moving story about elderly people who opened up to the director, sharing their joy of life and reflections on what truly matters. "Repetitions" takes us on a subtle yet poignant journey through the most essential emotions that define our existence. It is a film about each of us, making it well worth watching.

The film Repetitions focuses on intimate interviews with residents, conducted in the gymnasium of a small-scale sanatorium. The repetitive exercises serve as catalysts for personal stories of pain and pleasure, revealing the most vivid moments of human life. This documentary is not only an aesthetic essay on suffering but also a story of regeneration and resilience.

Tandem has qualified for the El Dorado Film Festival! 🎬

The cinematographic etude by Katarzyna Lewek tells the story of Antek, who lives as if in a cage. A stationary bike, two pet mice, and a sofa make up his entire world—a world belonging to someone who may never walk again. However, one day, an unexpected visit reminds him of an old passion, and a friend takes him outside to try riding a tandem bike. 🚴‍♂️

We would like to thank the group of 27 representatives from the Student Governments of universities in the United Kingdom for their visit to the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School!

Last week, on January 9, 2025, the guests toured the University of Silesia campus and got acquainted with our educational offerings. We are glad for the fruitful exchange of experiences and invite you to check out a brief photo report from this event.

The visit was part of a study program that covered the Visegrad Group countries. The group has already visited, among others, Corvinus University in Budapest, Comenius University in Bratislava, Charles University in Prague, the University of Wrocław, Jagiellonian University, and the University of Silesia. The aim of the visit was to explore issues related to students' rights and responsibilities, as well as to learn about ways of supporting students and developing international cooperation.

The group was accompanied by Anna Szrama, a faculty member from our department.
